The Toyo Tires F1600 Championship Series is a competitive, technologically advanced form of open wheel racing based in Ontario and sanctioned by the CASC, Ontario Region. The Series features open-wheel race cars powered by both Honda and Ford engines and has two distinct classes. The “A” Class is for the newest and most refined chassis and the “B” Class, is for cars manufactured during 1994 or earlier. All cars with the Honda Fit power unit are assigned the “A” Class, regardless of year of chassis manufacture.
 

For years, F1600 racing has been a form of racing that has produced almost all of Canada’s most decorated road racing stars. It provides the most cost-effective form of entry level formula car competition for aspiring young stars and is an excellent destination series for racers looking for the closest wheel-to-wheel racing in the country.
 

The Toyo Tire F1600 Championship Series has traditionally been regarded as the first major stepping stone into car racing after karting in Canada. The Series typically sees career-minded drivers enter alongside amateurs and enthusiasts. Success in F1600 can lead directly to other junior formula series and on into a professional career.
 

F1600 is not a one-make form of motorsport, unlike other open-wheeler series. It allows freedom of chassis design, and numerous technical items of specification on the car. This opens the door to many chassis manufacturers, large and small.
